SEPTEMBER 21, 2018

    MLAC Family,

While there is nothing new under the sun this is still a very exciting time of year for our church. The Fall presents so many opportunities for reaching people with the Gospel message of Jesus now that people are back from vacations and headed back to school. There are a few ways coming up that you can be a part of spreading the good news of Jesus in our community and serving His people here at Moses Lake Alliance Church. Here are a couple of the things that are coming up...

  • Our students will be gathering around flag poles at their local schools to pray for our country, our community, and their schools on Wednesday, September 26 before school.
  • Car Care Day on Saturday, October 6 from 10am-1pm. This is a great way to practically show people the love of Jesus through servicing their cars and then using that open door to tell them about Jesus.
  • We need volunteers to help serve at our Senior Adult luncheons every second Tuesday of the month at 11:30am.
  • You can also share the blessings you have received from the Lord by donating to the backpack buddies program which we will have tubs in the foyer for starting this Sunday. For more info on what is needed please email or see Pastor Tyler Ellis.

One last thing, don’t forget to put on your calendar that our annual meeting will be on Sunday, October 7 @ 11:15am. This will be a great time of celebrating what God has done in our midst over the past year, what He’s doing now, and what we are excited about seeing Him do in the upcoming year.

I am so blessed to be here at Moses Lake Alliance Church with you all and look forward with eager anticipation each day to what the Lord is going to do with us as a church body!

SEPTEMBER 14, 2018

MLAC Family,

This week was the 17-year anniversary of 9-11 and what a reminder it is each year of the uncertainty and brevity of life. With that reminder emblazoned in our brains let us never forget that every individual we meet is not just a physical being but an eternal soul. Let’s make this week one where we each pray for God to use us for His eternal purposes and not let a moment pass where we aren’t open to His leading.

Speaking of His leading... He may be leading you to be at our congregational meeting this Sunday right after church at 11:15am. We will discuss how the roof and parking lot that He has blessed us with will be repaired. And He also may be leading you to be at our annual meeting that will be on Sunday, October 7 @ 11:15am! J

Another big event that we have coming up as a church body that I am praying you will be a part of is our annual Car Care Day on Saturday, October 6 from 10am-1pm. This is a great opportunity to love on Moses Lake through serving them, but an even greater opportunity to share the life changing message of the Gospel. Sign-ups for volunteering that day begin this Sunday, September 16 in the foyer. We need everything from oil changers, to coffee bar helpers, to general set up and clean up, and more.

I am looking forward to seeing and hearing how our great God is going to use His church for His glory and the spreading of His name! And I have a secret for you... He wants to use you to do it! What a privilege it is to be loved by and used by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

MLAC Church Family,

The Fall Kickoff this past Sunday and throughout the week has already been such a blessing. We launched our new series in church “Gospel Foundations”, have kicked off the new Sunday School year, and had a great Wednesday night kickoff. Praise Jesus!

We also have a whole slew of other things coming up as well. Let me share with you just a few that you can be a part of and praying for...

  • All Church Picnic and Baptisms - Sunday, September 9 @ 3pm at the Garcia’s house: 10401 Rd H NE. Maps are available at the church. Hamburgers, hotdogs, & chicken kabobs, as well as cold drinks will be provided. Please bring a potluck item (salad, side dish, dessert) to share. We will have baptisms in the pool first, then eat and make merry.
  •      Sept 16Officially called Congregational Business meeting, 11:15 a.m. All are invited.Members, please plan to attend. There is an information sheet available at the Connections Center that explains the details of the meeting.
  •      Women’s Retreat – September 21-23 (Sign-ups in the foyer until 9/16)
  •      MLAC Car Care Day – Saturday, October 6 (10am – 1pm)
  •      MLAC Annual Meeting – Sunday, October 7 (11:15am)

As you can see this is a busy and blessed season for us at MLAC. This is a time when many are coming back from vacations and trying to wrap their minds around the craziness. What a great time to introduce to the Prince of Peace and the One who brings order and purpose out of chaos. Please continue to pray for and reach out to those individuals that God has put in your path for a reason so that you may introduce them to Jesus and invite them to MLAC.

This church family is such a blessing and I am thrilled to be a part of what God is doing here, I hope you are too!

MLAC Brothers and Sisters,

Somehow the kids are already back in school and the craziness has begun. But this side of heaven things will always be a little crazy. The good news is, in the midst of the craziness our sovereign and all-powerful God is always in control.

Since Fall is here we are seeing a few things take place around here. One of those things is our promotion Sunday this coming week. This is the Sunday all the kiddos will be moving up to their new grades and it is a new chapter for them, so encourage and praise them this Sunday. This also means that all of our Wednesday night activities are starting this coming Wednesday, September 5 as well. Those activities include Simple Suppers at 5:30pm and then all of our children’s, Junior High, High School, and Equipping Courses starting at 6:30pm.

We also have our all church picnic on Sunday, September 9 at the Garcia’s house where we will have tons of food, fun, and do some baptisms!

On Sunday, September 16 right after the second service we will be having another very crucial meeting regarding the funding for our roof and parking lot repair plans.

In the midst of all that is happening in the coming months let’s make sure we never lose sight of why we are here more than anything else... JESUS!

You are loved church family!

AUGUST 24, 2018

MLAC Family,

The kiddos and youth of the community are heading back to school. This means added stress for many. This also means open doors for us as believers to bring the Prince of Peace into people’s lives. Please be praying for open doors to reach your neighbors, coworkers, classmates, etc. with the good news of Jesus as many are getting back to the “normal” routine of life here in Moses Lake.

With that admonition I want to encourage with a few things that are going on here at Moses Lake Alliance Church that are all meant to point people to Jesus. Starting the first week of September our Growth Groups will be kicking off. You can get signed up for a group in the foyer as well as pick up the materials we will be using for Growth Groups in the foyer (the table for Growth Groups will be smack dab in the middle of the foyer so you can’t miss it ).

We will also be starting our next 1P3 Equipping Course entitled “How to Witness to a Mormon. Those will run every Wednesday night at 6:30pm in the MLAC sanctuary starting September 5 and ending November 21. We will be covering in-depth how to lead someone in the Latter-day Saint Church to the real Jesus, answering questions about who God is and what He is like, who Jesus is, who man is, how one gets to heaven, and how you can prove that the Mormon church, its prophets, and its holy books are not from God.

In that same vein, all Wednesday night activities will kick-off on Wednesday, September 5!

Ladies, time is running short for signing up for the next Women’s Retreat in September so be sure to get signed up soon... You will be so blessed after attending.

Lastly, we have our annual church picnic coming up at the Garcia’s and this is a great time of food, fellowship, fun, and we will be doing some baptisms. This will be on Sunday, September 9 and it is going to be a blast!

Brothers and sisters, as always, you are loved and prayed for much!

Pastor Dave

AUGUST 17, 2018

MLAC Family,

Well, ready or not Fall is upon us and that means back to school and back to the grind for many. But we know that in walking with Jesus there is no such thing as a trivial day and because of Him we really don’t even have to have stressful days. After all, He’s already in tomorrow!

With Fall coming up that means a number of things upon us as a church family that are quite exciting and I am expecting God to do many things through them. Here are a few things that are coming up that I would ask you to pray for and maybe even be involved in...

Growth Groups are starting in September and we currently have sign-ups and info for all those groups out in the foyer each Sunday in August so check those out! This year for Growth Groups we are including some great resources called “Gospel Foundations” that consist of two volumes. If you would like to help us cover the cost of the resources the two volumes together cost us $20 a piece, but this cost is not an obligation for you to be in a Growth Group.

We are starting our next 1P3 Equipping course called “Life’s Ultimate Questions for a Mormon” on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm. This begins Wednesday, September 5 and runs through Wednesday, November 21. Due to the fairly large document I have created and will be printing it would be helpful for you to sign-up in the foyer, so I can get a feel for number of copies to make.

We have our annual Serve Moses Lake “Back 2 School” event coming up and need help filling back packs. If you’d like to help we need volunteers here at MLAC Thursday, August 23 at 6pm as well as volunteers for the event on Saturday, August 25.

Lastly, we have our “Welcome 6thGraders” event with boating and all kinds of fun at the Ohs’ house on Wednesday, August 22 and we would love to have you there to love on and welcome our incoming Junior Highers.

So, as you can see there is lots happening. Please be praying that each of these events are so much more than events, but that they are catalysts to people falling more in love with Jesus!

In His Grip,

Pastor Dave
