Kent Copley

Executive Pastor

Basic Job Description:
My primary duties as executive pastor are to provide oversight of the
facilities, finances, and the administrative and custodial staff.

During our Senior Pastor search period, I'm serving alongside our Interim Pastor  with oversight of the staff and ministries of the church.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
A pastor’s role often changes with the various needs in and around the life of the church, but ultimately we are shepherds of God’s people. Some of the shepherding relates to pastoral care where I meet with individuals or couples. Other areas of shepherding relate to teaching. So, I lead the Sportsmen Wednesday class where we have a time of prayer and Bible teaching; and I occasionally preach on Sunday mornings and teach the baptism class.

I also support the Library team, and Deacons ministries. I enjoy working with the ushers on Sunday mornings and other special events.

One part of our church's values speaks of “Missional Living.” Another major area of my responsibilities relates to help our church fulfill that calling. I love missions. I love to participate in missions and help others serve the Lord in this way. One part is related to global work and partnerships and another part of this for me is being involved in our community. I’ve served as chaplain for the Moses Lake Police Department since 2007; participate in the Moses Lake Ministerial Association; occasionally assist the Moses Lake School District with long-range facility planning, as well as come alongside my daughters at their various activities.

Hobbies:
I love spending time with my family. We often play cards, board games and have some favorite television shows in common (“I Love Lucy” anybody?). For personal time I find my mind and spirit is refreshed when I get in a round of golf or spend time fishing. I love to follow the San Francisco Forty-Niners and San Francisco Giants (don’t hold it against me...I was raised in Northern California).

Family:
Staci and I were married in 1988. We enjoy being together. She is a public school Mentoring Coach at a local elementary school. Staci is a fantastic person, a great wife and loving mother. Tori is our oldest and a student at Whitworth University.  Britni is our youngest and a student at the high school. She too is a good student and loves to be involved with the high school choirs and musicals.
